THE ROLE OF BRANDING

An identity has to work beyond its logo. It needs to hold together on a screen, in a package, in a campaign and in the details that people encounter every day.

POSSIBLE SCOPE

A focused idea.
A considered execution.

01

Brand foundations

Clarify the audience, positioning, personality and key messages that guide the creative work.

02

Visual identity

Explore a coherent system of logo, colour, typography, imagery and graphic elements.

03

Brand applications

Bring the direction into relevant touchpoints such as packaging, social templates or printed materials.

04

Guidelines & handover

Document the agreed system so it can be applied consistently by the people working with your brand.

FROM BRIEF TO DELIVERY

From first thought
to final form.

01

Understand

Explore the business, audience, category and what needs to change.

02

Find a direction

Translate that understanding into a focused creative territory and visual principles.

03

Build the system

Develop and refine the identity, testing it on the applications that matter most.

04

Make it usable

Organise the agreed files and guidance for the next people who will use them.

What you receive

A scope may include brand foundations, a logo suite, a colour and typography system, image direction, application designs and a brand guide. Naming, packaging and additional rollout materials can be discussed separately.

What to bring

Tell us what the brand does, who it is for and why the identity needs to evolve. Existing logos, brand materials, competitor context and a list of priority applications are useful starting points.

Prepare a project brief

BEFORE WE BEGIN

A few useful answers.

Can you work with an existing identity?

A project can focus on a refresh or a specific set of applications. Share what must stay and what currently feels inconsistent or difficult to use.

Is a logo the whole branding project?

It can be a focused deliverable, but a broader identity also considers typography, colour, imagery and practical use. The appropriate scope depends on the brand’s needs.

What happens to font and image licences?

Required third-party licences and usage permissions should be identified during scoping. They should not be assumed to be included in design fees.

What are you
working on?

A new identity. A launch. A story that needs to be told. Start with the challenge; we’ll shape the possibilities.
